Polling Agency Decries Reshuffle

The government is stripping Russia’s best-known polling agency of its independence, depriving journalists, scholars and politicians of objective information on public opinion, the organization’s director said.
In a few weeks, the Russian Center for Public Opinion and Market Research will have a new board of directors, said Yuri Levada, the chief of the agency. The government said the changes were routine.
