He Can’t See Why This Item Is Banned
The Coliseum is the greatest college football venue in the country. I’ve enjoyed USC football at the Coliseum for more years than I can remember.
Recently added to the list of contraband items for this season are “binocular cases”. Now I understand the post 9/11 need for increased security at the Coliseum, but how does banning binocular cases increase safety or security? What is the difference between a binocular case and a purse? All bags (including binocular cases) are inspected before entering the Coliseum. What is in binocular cases? Binoculars! What is in a purse? Lord only knows.
Maybe The Times or its readers can figure this one out. As for me, this is security gone to the ridiculous.
