A painter’s vision of grandeur

Times Staff Writer

In the gated community of Indian Springs, in the northwestern corner of the San Fernando Valley, artist Marty Bell created a house quite different from her oil paintings of quaint cottages in idyllic settings.

The house Bell built in 1992 is big, befitting the high-end, 70-home development that boasts such successful residents as Smokey Robinson.

Bell “poured her heart and soul” into the house, according to Realtor Kevin Godley. And when she was done, the California painter of English landscapes moved elsewhere.
