A judge on Tuesday set Oct. 22 as the new trial date for former Inglewood police officer Jeremy Morse, who is accused of assaulting a teenager last summer by slamming him atop a car.
Morse’s first trial ended last month in a mistrial after jurors failed to arrive at a verdict. Within days, prosecutors decided to retry the case.
Morse is charged with assault under color of authority. A pretrial hearing is set for Sept. 19.
