Geoffrey Dean of Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort in Palm Springs shot a final-round even-par 72 Wednesday at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club in Calimesa and won the Southern California PGA Club Professional Championship.
Dean, who holed a six-foot par putt on the final hole to clinch the victory, had a three-day total of eight-under 208, one shot better than runner-up Ron Skayhan of Hillcrest Country Club and Jon Fiedler of Las Posas Country Club. Fred Sutton of Spring Valley Lake Country Club finished two shots back.
The victory earns Dean, 36, exemptions into three 2004 PGA Tour events: the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, Buick Invitational and Nissan Open. He also wins $5,000, and an exemption into the Nationwide Tour Inland Empire Open in September.
