Ventura Crash Victim Is Identified
Police on Friday identified a woman killed Thursday in a car accident on northbound U.S. 101 in Ventura.
Sandra Miles, 44, of Ventura, died and her 16-year-old son, Kyle Winiarz, was seriously injured about 5:30 p.m. when Miles’ van burst into flames after veering off the road and crashing into a tree.
Miles was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene on the highway north of East Main Street. Her son was taken to Ventura County Medical Center and was listed in critical condition Friday, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
CHP officers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
