Biker Dies in Collision With Lawmaker’s Car
U.S. Rep. William J. Janklow was driving a car that collided with a motorcycle and killed its rider, state officials said.
Janklow, 63, a former four-term governor, suffered minor injuries in the crash near Trent, said Col. Dan Mosteller, head of the Highway Patrol. Prosecutor Bill Ellingson said he was awaiting accident reports before deciding whether to file charges.
Randolph E. Scott, 53, of Hardwick, Minn., was not wearing a helmet, Mosteller said, adding that there was no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
