Man Arrested in Torture of His Girlfriend
From Times Wire Reports
A man was arrested for investigation of torturing his girlfriend with a hot iron and heated scissors before she escaped, police said.
Police arrested Elbert Flowers, 24, Friday after his girlfriend freed herself from a chair she was tied to and ran to a neighbor for help. Flowers has a violent history, police said. He was convicted of aggravated assault in 1998 and served two years in prison.
Police say the injured woman suffered nearly a dozen second- and third-degree burns to her legs and upper body.
