Mortgage Rates Now 2nd Highest in a Year

The average U.S. 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 6.32%, the second-highest level in a year, mortgage firm Freddie Mac said.

The average 30-year rate for the week ending today rose from 6.28% last week. The average rate on a 15-year mortgage jumped to 5.66% from 5.60%. The average one-year adjustable-rate mortgage climbed to 3.88% from 3.84%.

Mortgage rates have risen nine weeks out of the last 10 after reaching a record low of 5.21% in June.
