Man, Woman Sought in Abduction of 2 Children
Police sought a man and woman Saturday who were accused of kidnapping their two children, who had been placed in foster care in May after the death of a sibling had been attributed to shaken baby syndrome.
Leonardo Arciniega, 22, and Diana Polentino, 24, were at a supervised visit with their children and the foster mother on Saturday afternoon when they took the children and drove off, said Officer Don Cox of the Los Angeles Police Department.
An Amber Alert was issued Saturday night, seeking the public’s help to find the children. Arciniega and Polentino have family in Colombia and are believed to be heading there, Cox said.
They were last seen in a red 1997 Ford Explorer. Police urged anyone with information to call LAPD detectives at (213) 485-4061.
