Pro-Beijing Politician in Hong Kong Resigns

Hong Kong’s top pro-Beijing party accepted its chairman’s resignation, seeking fresh leadership after a bruising election defeat blamed on the party’s close ties to the territory’s unpopular chief executive.
Chairman Jasper Tsang of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong had offered to quit after his party’s poor showing in local elections Nov. 23.
