Exilim Zoom: The advent of compact point-and-shoot cameras has lightened loads for photo buffs, and Casio’s new credit-card-size digital camera is another big step in the trend toward smaller. Measuring 3.4 by 2.24 inches and less than an inch thick, this high-resolution, 4-megapixel camera slips into a pocket or purse. It includes a slew of features: a 2-inch monitor, a 3X optical zoom lens, a built-in speaker for up to 40 minutes of voice recordings, up to 90 minutes of continuous shooting on one charge of the lithium ion battery, 10 MB of built-in-flash memory, a built-in flash with red-eye reduction, a self-timer so the shooter can get into the shot, and a separate cradle for charging the camera and automatic transfer of images to a computer. All this in less than a pound.

The Pod: This is a surprisingly versatile camera bag. The 7- by 6.5- by 5-inch bag has 20 compartments to keep a pocket camera, cellphone, PDA, batteries, global positioning system, floppy disks, digital film cards and other delicate gear organized and protected in padded spaces. The Pod is made of nylon and weighs less than a pound.It can be carried by its handle or adjustable shoulder strap or attached to a belt with its built-in loops.

Ocean Aqua Frame: Bored with photo frames that just sit there? The Ocean Aqua Frame gets into the act with three colorful fake fish that swim around in water sandwiched between two panes of glass with the help of hidden magnets that keep the fish moving. Turn on a little switch, and a recording of ocean sounds completes the mood. The frame accommodates a 4-by-6-inch photo behind the glass, making the photo subjects look as if they’re underwater.

ReefMaster: SeaLife, makers of underwater cameras, has introduced two new 3.3-megapixel models with impressive resolution and light sensitivity. The easiest to use, the ReefMaster DC300, is a one-button affair that does all the figuring for you. The more sophisticated DC310 allows more experienced photographers to adjust resolution, light sensitivity, exposure mode and other factors underwater. Both have built-in flashes and tough rubber armor with cushioned grips and are waterproof to a depth of 200 feet. They can be set to land or sea mode.
