Technology Is Good, but Look Both Ways

“Novel Crosswalk Signals Drivers to Pay Attention” (Dec. 9) made me like to walk a little bit more. I just moved here from New York, and I think that we could use flashing lights on crosswalks there, as well. I don’t think the drivers would change their habits at first, but after a while they would understand. I would always cross very busy streets and be close to death. I would literally get touched by the cars as they zoomed by. Lucky for me, they only hit my baggy jeans.

These signals will have positive results, in my opinion. The only worry for me is that drivers won’t notice the little lights on the ground and stop. Well, let’s see what happens. I hope they will add more.
