No. 2 Tennessee Rallies Again

Ashley Robinson had 18 points and eight rebounds and No. 2 Tennessee rallied to win for the third straight time in a 96-89 overtime victory over DePaul on Wednesday night in Chicago.

Loree Moore hit a three-point shot with the score tied, 83-83, to start a 7-0 run in overtime for the Lady Vols (6-0). Moore had 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for Tennessee, which shot 53%.

Tennessee had not lost to an unranked opponent since a loss to Louisiana State in March 2002. It took everything it had to keep the streak alive against DePaul (8-1).

Tennessee trailed, 81-77, with 1:30 to go in regulation.

No. 5 Texas 90, Texas Pan American 25 -- Heather Schreiber scored 17 points as Texas (9-1) ran its winning streak at home to 24 games. Kala Bowers had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Longhorns. Dawnne Cheadle led Texas Pan American (5-3) with six points.

No. 10 Georgia 86, Furman 51 -- Kara Braxton set a school record with 11-for-11 shooting and scored 22 points for Georgia (7-1) in Greenville, S.C. Braxton’s performance broke the 1984 mark of Katrina McClain, who was 11 for 12 against Stephen F. Austin. Kim Lawrence had 15 points for the Lady Paladins (3-3).

No. 15 North Carolina 81, W. Michigan 52 -- Nikita Bell had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels (8-1) at Chapel Hill, N.C.

Ivory Latta and Leah Metcalf each had 12 points for North Carolina, and La’Tangea Atkinson added 11 and Candace Sutton and Camille Little had 10 each. Casey Rost led the Broncos (3-4) with 16 points.

No. 16 Louisiana State 73, Kent State 49 -- Seimone Augustus scored 18 points and the Lady Tigers (6-2) used a 13-0 run near the end of the first half to pull away in the Womenscollegehoops.com Classic in Baton Rouge, La.

Augustus injured her right knee in a collision with 10:13 remaining and did not return. Andrea Csaszar led Kent State (3-3) with 17 points.
