Microsoft, Spitzer Sue E-Mail Marketers

Microsoft Corp. and New York Atty. Gen. Eliot Spitzer filed lawsuits against a group of e-mail marketers that they said were responsible for sending billions of fraudulent spam messages.

Defendants in the civil lawsuits include Synergy6 Inc. of New York and Scott Richter, who runs Westminster, Colo.-based Optinrealbig.com. Richter rejected the claims; representatives from Synergy6 declined to comment.
