Morrison Sustains Hamstring Injury

Share

Brian Morrison pulled his left hamstring late in UCLA’s 64-58 victory Saturday over Michigan State and Coach Ben Howland said the junior guard could be sidelined for at least the next two weeks.

Howland said Morrison will not be allowed to go home for the holidays.

“He’ll either be spending Christmas at Michael Fey’s house or at my house,” Howland said of Morrison, from Redmond, Wash. “He can’t go home because he won’t be able to get the treatment he needs. He’s going to go with us to Michigan [next Saturday] so he can keep getting treatment.”

Howland also said he is uncertain about Morrison’s status for the Bruins’ first two Pacific 10 Conference games, Jan. 2 against Oregon State and Jan. 4 against Oregon.

Morrison had started the team’s first five games, but Howland moved him to a reserve role against Michigan State. Morrison had 11 points and was three for three on three-point shots in 27 minutes before his injury.
