From Times Wire Reports

Rep. William J. Janklow (R-S.D.) filed a motion asking that he either be acquitted of second-degree manslaughter or granted a new trial, saying prosecutors didn’t present enough evidence to establish his guilt.

Janklow was convicted for a crash that killed a motorcyclist.

During the trial, the defense had argued that Janklow, a diabetic, had not eaten the day of the crash and had low blood sugar when the collision occurred. Prosecutors said Janklow was driving too fast and ignored a stop sign.

Janklow plans to resign from Congress.
