The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel who died in Iraq:

Glenn R. Allison, 24, of Pittsfield, Mass.; sergeant, Army. Allison died Dec. 18 during physical training in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, based at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Benjamin W. Biskie, 27, of Vermilion, Ohio; sergeant, Army. Biskie was killed Wednesday while traveling in a convoy outside Samarra, north of Baghdad, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, based at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

Charles E. Bush Jr., 43, of Buffalo, N.Y.; private first class, Army Reserve. Bush was killed Dec. 19 while traveling in a convoy in Balad when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, 354th Civil Affairs Brigade, 352nd Civil Affairs Command, Army Reserve, based in Riverdale Park, Md.

Stuart W. Moore, 21, of Livingston, Texas; private first class, Army. Moore was killed Monday while traveling in a convoy in Baghdad when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based in Giessen, Germany.

Edward M. Saltz, 27, of Bigfork, Mont.; first lieutenant, Army Reserve. Saltz was killed Monday while traveling in a convoy in Baghdad when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based in Giessen, Germany.

Christopher F. Soelzer, 26, of South Dakota; captain, Army. Soelzer was killed Wednesday while traveling in a convoy outside Samarra, north of Baghdad, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, based at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

Christopher J. Splinter, 43, of Platteville, Wis.; major, Army. Splinter was killed Wednesday while traveling in a convoy outside Samarra, north of Baghdad, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, based at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
