Council Rejects Ban on Weapons at Meetings
From Times Wire Reports
The Modesto City Council rejected an idea to ban concealed weapons from its meetings.
Mayor Carmen Sabatino proposed the idea after a councilman who’s a retired sheriff’s deputy refused to say whether he brought a gun to a meeting.
Although Councilman Will O’Bryant pledged he wouldn’t arm himself at meetings, Sabatino pushed for the ban. The measure died Tuesday for lack of support.
