Teachers Snubbed
I am a certificated, experienced English teacher, but I may have to relocate to another state because of Gov. Gray Davis’ proposed educational budget cuts. Thus far, I’ve applied to over 80 school districts, but so far I have not been given a job. In fact, not even an interview. Just a form letter stating that, because of the cuts, certificated teachers are being cut in favor of unqualified, yet less expensive, substitute teachers. How can children’s educations be sacrificed like this?
