Radiation-Blocking Tablets to Be Offered
From Wire Service Reports
Residents and businesses near the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant will soon be sent information for ordering free radiation-blocking potassium iodide tablets.
The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services will mail the packets later this month. They will contain postcards that can be used to order two tablets per person.
Emergency planners will also maintain supplies of potassium iodide for distribution in the event of an accident leading to a release of radiation.
