“My favorite television show is somewhere between ‘I Love Lucy,’ ‘All in the Family’ or any Bill Moyers interview or documentary.... We have a TiVo system. We always TiVo ‘The West Wing’ and ‘South Park.’ ‘The West Wing’ provokes me to consider my own opinions and also has a level of humor that I like very much. And actually that’s the same thing that you could say about ‘South Park.’ It’s very much social commentary, and that’s part of what I like about it. Cartman is my favorite character -- he’s to ‘South Park’ what Martin Sheen is to ‘The West Wing.’ Other than those two shows, I guess I’m the only person who flips back and forth between Home and Garden TV and ‘Monday Night Football’ -- I check to see whose house they’re doing, then back to see who’s winning. My husband just rolls his eyes at me.”

“My TiVo is set to record anything with ‘Perry Mason’ or Raymond Burr or William Hopper or anyone else that was in the cast. I’m trying to watch all 271 of them. I’ve watched 63 so far. It’s showing somewhere all the time. I believe it was in the Magna Carta that ‘Perry Mason’ had to be showing somewhere every hour of the day. I tend to be idea- and plot-driven. I think ‘Perry Mason’ is good for me because you can never figure out the plot. It is entirely form over content. All you’ve got is people with beautiful voices and dark circles under their eyes. I love everything about Raymond Burr. It was an incredibly powerful idea to have someone who had only played a heavy his entire career play a character whose integrity was perfect. You just don’t see someone playing against type that strongly now. “

“I love to watch Animal Planet, especially ‘Pet Psychic’ and ‘Mating Habits of the Wildebeest’, or ‘The Anna Nicole Show,’ which is the same thing. I love the whore factor of ‘Joe Millionaire’ and ‘ElimiDate.’ I am obsessed with Court TV because I never know when I’ll have to defend Winona Ryder or Robert Downey Jr. Just to see my stock portfolio quickly plunge into Dow and Tech Manure, I tune into CNN, then watch those two closet cases go at it on ‘Crossfire.’ ”
