Washington State Ends Skid at 45

Bianca McCall and Lindsey Egeland each made two free throws with less than 10 seconds left as Washington State broke a 45-game losing streak with a 67-64 win over California on Thursday night at Pullman, Wash.

McCall finished with 20 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars (1-21, 1-13 Pacific-10). Egeland finished with 17 points.

Washington State held the second-longest losing streak in Division I history entering the game. The last time the Cougars had won a regular-season game was Nov. 29, 2001, when they beat Gonzaga in Pullman.

Washington 92, No. 6 Stanford 68 -- Giuliana Mendiola scored 13 of her 20 points in the second half to help Washington (18-6, 10-4 Pac-10) win at Seattle. Stanford is 19-3, 11-2.

No. 20 UC Santa Barbara 77, Illinois 72 -- Lindsey Taylor scored 22 points to lead the Gauchos (18-3), who shot 60.8% (31 for 51) from the field to win at Champaign, Ill.
