The owner of a celebrity magazine that published unauthorized wedding pictures of actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones apologized to the couple on Monday for causing them offense and distress.

Speaking through an interpreter at London’s High Court, Spaniard Eduardo Sanchez Junco expressed regret that the Hollywood stars were angered after his Hello! magazine featured pictures of their lavish wedding in 2000.

But he said he thought their angry reaction to the photographs was “a little bit exaggerated.”

Zeta-Jones, 33, and Douglas, 58, claim Hello! breached their privacy after publishing a series of blurry, unauthorized shots three days before rival magazine OK! printed official pictures. The couple are suing Hello! for $800,000 for loss of income, stress and damage to their careers.
