Maryland Routs Wake Forest

A day later than expected, No. 13 Maryland stormed past 10th-ranked Wake Forest to take over first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Steve Blake had 21 points and nine assists as the Terrapins handed the Demon Deacons their most lopsided loss of the season, 90-67, Monday at College Park, Md.

Ryan Randle had 13 rebounds for Maryland, 16-6 overall and 8-3 in the ACC. Wake Forest is 17-4, 7-3. The game had been postponed from Sunday because of heavy snow.

No. 3 Texas 77, Texas Tech 65 -- Brandon Mouton made five three-pointers in the first half at Austin, Texas, to lead the Longhorns (18-4, 9-2 in Big 12) over Texas Tech (14-8, 4-7), which played without guard Andre Emmett, who was suspended for two games after missing the team’s morning practice.

No. 7 Florida 77, New Orleans 48 -- Matt Bonner scored 24 points to lead the Gators (21-4) over the Privateers (13-11) at Gainesville, Fla.

No. 9 Pittsburgh vs. Georgetown -- Snow postponed the game at Washington until tonight.

No. 23 Utah 86, Nevada Las Vegas 80 -- Tim Frost had two three-point plays in overtime at Salt Lake City to lead the Utes (20-4, 8-1) to a Mountain West Conference victory. The Rebels are 15-8, 4-5.

WOMEN’S TOP 25

No. 2 Duke 83, Wake Forest 41 -- Alana Beard scored 14 points at Winston-Salem, N.C., to lead the Blue Devils (24-1, 12-0) in an ACC game. The Demon Deacons are 11-12, 2-11.
