4 Marines Held in Rape of Unconscious Woman

Four Marines were being held Wednesday for investigation of allegedly raping an unconscious woman at a Mojave Desert motel, San Bernardino County authorities said.
Detectives investigating the Monday morning attack went to the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base and on Tuesday arrested James J. Duffy, 19; Michael Garzon, 18; Walter Holmes, 19; and Gregory Winston, 19. They were jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail each, sheriff’s Det. Jeff Joling said.
