Finance Chief Named Interim City Manager
Candis Hong, the city’s finance director, has been appointed interim city manager beginning April 1.
The City Council, seeking a smooth transition after the May 3 retirement of City Manager MaryJane Lazz, voted unanimously to promote Hong to the six-month assignment. A five-member panel of residents is set to work with a professional recruiting firm to conduct a candidate search for the city’s top administrator.
Hong, 51, who lives in Thousand Oaks and is married to a local dentist and has two adult children, is expected to receive a 5% raise in her new assignment, bringing her monthly salary to $10,946.
