Oregon State continued its success against Washington with an 80-72 victory at Seattle.

The Beavers outrebounded Washington, 38-24, and that helped them beat the Huskies for the seventh time in eight meetings.

Washington (8-15, 3-11 Pacific 10) has lost five games in a row and this one dropped the Huskies below UCLA (3-10) into ninth place in the conference standings. The ninth and 10th-place teams don’t participate in the Pac-10 tournament.

David Lucas, a 6-foot-7 sophomore who is the son of former NBA and ABA standout Maurice Lucas, scored 14 points and eight rebounds for the Beavers (12-10, 5-8).

After shooting 58.3% from the field in the first half, the Beavers held a 37-35 halftime advantage despite turning the ball over 11 times.

The victory gave Oregon State a season sweep of the Huskies. The Beavers beat them by 20 points at Gill Coliseum last month.
