Repaired School Bus Fleet Wins Approval

Amador County’s school bus fleet will be back in business soon after being sidelined for more than a month amid serious safety concerns.
Faced with civil complaints and potential criminal charges, the district stopped using the fleet last month after years of failed safety inspections by the California Highway Patrol.
District officials say they fixed the problems by updating maintenance programs, and the CHP this week granted its conditional approval to get the buses rolling again, starting Monday.
