Re “Studio Says MTA Is Walking Out on Deal to Construct Pedestrian Tunnel at Station” (Feb. 17), on Universal City’s insistence that the MTA build a pedestrian tunnel linking its entrance to the nearby Red Line station: Wouldn’t it be easier to have Universal extend its tram service across Lankershim Boulevard to the Red Line station instead? Special traffic signals and even traffic-control officers could be emplaced for a tiny fraction of the $22.9 million that Universal wants the MTA to spend on a tunnel.
