Tune’s, Burnett’s plays to close

Share

“Hollywood Arms,” the play based on Carol Burnett’s memoir “One More Time,” will close Sunday because of poor reviews and faltering ticket sales, the show’s producers said. Starring Linda Lavin as Burnett’s feisty grandmother and Michele Pawk as her mother, it opened on Broadway on Halloween.

The 69-year-old comedian wrote the play with her daughter, Carrie Hamilton, who died at age 38 of cancer last January before its world premiere at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre.

Another high-profile miss: the big-band musical revue “Tommy Tune: White Tie and Tails” will close its doors at the new Little Shubert Theatre after only 23 performances. Producers plan a national tour beginning in the late spring.
