Jordan Has a Night to Remember
Once again, Chicago’s United Center was rocking, and Michael Jordan and his teammates embarrassed yet another opponent. Only this time, Jordan was helping humiliate the Bulls as the Washington Wizards ran away with a 107-82 victory.
The game was so out of hand, Jordan, who finished with 10 points, didn’t even play in the fourth quarter -- much to the dismay of the fans. Most left after the third quarter, and the few who stuck it out spent the final minutes of the game chanting “We want Mike! We want Mike!”
“I hate to beat Bill’s team the way we beat them, but that’s part of the job,” Jordan said, referring to Bull Coach Bill Cartwright, his teammate on Chicago’s first three championship teams.
“I think sometimes it’s a hard thing for [the Bulls] to live up to, to get that type of respect over the time they’ve played. Maybe they are nervous and do too much.”
Phoenix 96, Philadelphia 78 -- Shawn Marion scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half at Phoenix as the Suns won their seventh straight home game.
The surprising Suns have won 10 of 12 overall and at 20-12 have the third-best record in the Western Conference.
