Comedy fest: Mike Myers will receive the AFI Star Award at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo., next month, given to individuals “whose work represents excellence in film and TV.”

Arrested: Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of the punk band Green Day, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Berkeley.

Supermen: Christopher Reeve, who played Superman on the big screen, will portray a scientist who gives Clark Kent some advice in a February episode of the WB series “Smallville.”

TV series: HBO’s next drama addition will be a western. The pay service has ordered “Deadwood,” a series from “NYPD Blue” co-creator David Milch, to premiere in 2004. Set in the 1870s, the series will mix historical characters such as Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok with fictional ones in a frontier town.
