Protestant Militant Sent Back to Prison

Northern Ireland’s most notorious Protestant militant, Johnny “Mad Dog” Adair, was returned to prison in County Antrim after the government accused him of being a danger to others. He was paroled in May.
Britain’s Northern Ireland secretary, Paul Murphy, said that Adair, if free, “is likely to commit further offenses.” Adair has boasted of being responsible for more than a dozen killings.
