Oklahoma State Upsets Oklahoma

Victor Williams made a disputed bank shot with 3.6 seconds left to give No. 24 Oklahoma State a 48-46 victory over fifth-ranked Oklahoma on Monday night at Stillwater, Okla.

Oklahoma Coach Kelvin Sampson ran onto the court to protest Williams’ shot, which came just as the 35-second shot clock expired. The officials rejected his claims and then Ebi Ere missed a three-point shot at the buzzer.

Williams finished with 16 points for the Cowboys, who improved to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12 Conference. Oklahoma State won its 11th in a row in Eddie Sutton’s 400th game as its coach. Ivan McFarlin had 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Kevin Bookout had 14 and Quannas White 10 for the Sooners (10-3, 1-1).

No. 25 Syracuse 76, No. 11 Missouri 69 -- The Orangemen (11-1) moved into the top 25 hours before tipoff and quickly proved they belonged, holding the Tigers (10-2) to 38% shooting at Syracuse, N.Y.

The Tigers were held 12 points below their season average and committed a season-high 20 turnovers.

Hakim Warrick scored 20 points to lead all five starters in double figures for Syracuse, which won its 11th straight game. Syracuse freshman Carmelo Anthony had 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Ricky Clemons scored 26 points for Missouri.

WOMEN

No. 1 Duke 79, Georgia Tech 59 -- Alana Beard bounced back from a sluggish start, scoring all but two of her 19 points in the second half to lead the Blue Devils (15-0, 3-0) over the Yellow Jackets (11-4, 0-3) in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Atlanta. Iciss Tillis led the Blue Devils with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

NOTES

Arizona guard Will Bynum transferred to Georgia Tech and will be eligible at the end of the fall semester. The 5-foot-11 sophomore was averaging 7.8 points this season for the Wildcats, but his playing time was cut lately because of the emergence of freshman Chris Rodgers.... Nebraska point guard Jake Muhleisen, who was averaging 11.7 points, is out for the season because of a broken hip. The injury doesn’t require surgery but will sideline the player for up to three months, Coach Barry Collier said.
