Dragstrip 66 gala is a 10

Dragstrip 66 hit a milestone on Saturday night. The monthly drag club held in Silver Lake at Rudolpho’s celebrated its 10th anniversary with a line out the door that extended to Glendale! And speaking of Glendale, the Scene Bar on Wednesdays is the place to be, as DJ Sam Velde from L.A. rock band Bluebird soars with rock and punk. Catch Bluebird at the Knitting Factory Friday night, as it celebrates its new album, “Hot Blood.”

Speaking of hot blood, the wild Florida band the Genitorturers is headlining Club Make-Up’s Psychosexual Ball on Jan. 24 at the Key Club. Ouch! Tonight the WeHo nightclub hosts Marky Ramone & the Speed Kings, along with famed Orange County punkers D.I. And don’t miss Friday night’s blue-plate special as the Royal Crown Revue returns to put some swagger in your swing.

Fate Fatal, of the death-rock group the Deep Eynde, is hosting Hollywood Babylon, a weekly old-school punk club at Spike on Santa Monica Boulevard. And in more Santa Monica Boulevard news, we hear rock promoter Cleo has taken over Tempest Supper Club’s live bookings Thursdays through Sundays, dubbing the nights Acoustic Playhouse. Sunday’s rock bash is hosted by Zoe Bonham, daughter of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. Bada-bing.

The power punk band is fronted by Joe Sib, who also runs SideOneDummy Records. The fab-O label is home to Flogging Molly, Madcap and the Casualties.

This just in: The Los Angeles Theatre is making history on Saturday, as the downtown venue hosts Sun Studios recording legend Billy Lee Riley and rockabilly’s very own Kim Lenz. Goodness gracious!
