First Lady Recommends Cleaning Your Room

First Lady Laura Bush urged youngsters to use the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday for public service -- even if it meant cleaning their rooms.
“Instead of taking a holiday for Martin Luther King’s birthday, why don’t we all work together to make our community better,” she told schoolchildren at a Washington library named after King.
She suggested ideas such as being “especially kind” to family members, lending a hand to teachers and tidying their rooms.
