‘Flower Drum Song’ canceled
The Ahmanson Theatre has canceled its September production of “Flower Drum Song,” on the heels of last week’s cancellation of the musical by Orange County Performing Arts Center.
After the musical’s international performances were axed because of SARS- related cancellations in Asia, Ahmanson officials had briefly considered mounting their own production but decided against it.
The scheduled Ahmanson run was not part of a subscription season, so there will not necessarily be a replacement in the Ahmanson schedule.
