New producer for ‘This Week’

ABC News’ Sunday show “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” is getting a veteran executive producer to help it out of its ratings slump, part of a continuing shift of producing responsibilities at ABC.

Tom Bettag, currently one of two executive producers of the late-night “Nightline,” was named to oversee “This Week”; he also was promoted to “Nightline” senior executive producer. The staffs of the two programs will be merged into a single team for both broadcasts.
