Truck Crash Leaves 45 Dead

Forty-five people were killed and 38 injured when the truck they were traveling in plunged into a ravine over the weekend near Betroka in southern Madagascar, hospital sources said.
Overloaded trucks are often involved in accidents on the poor roads of the impoverished Indian Ocean island. Most of the dead and injured were believed to be small-scale traders traveling between rural markets.
