From Times Wire Reports
An Australian-led international force began pouring into the South Pacific nation of Solomon Islands by plane and ship to help restore order. The Solomon Islands government appealed this month for help reining in militants and criminals who are extorting money, taking hostages and killing at will.
The 2,000 troops and 300 police will be deployed from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
