2 Brothers Ordered to Trial in Puppy Deaths
Two Humboldt County brothers have been ordered to stand trial on nine felony animal abuse charges for allegedly killing eight puppies and maiming a ninth.
Superior Court Judge J. Michael Brown said Tuesday that there was sufficient evidence to hold Adam Curtright, 23, of McKinleyville and Paul Curtright, 27, of Arcata in the case.
Only one prosecution witness and one defense witness were called to testify.
The defendants are due back in court Aug. 5.
If convicted of all counts, the brothers could spend more than five years in prison.
