Standards for valet service

Re: “Valet L.A.: Putting It in Park” (July 10), Julia Gaynor made several constructive points but did not go far enough.

The selection of a valet parking provider should consist of a process that includes relevant experience, a meticulous check of references, predetermined operating/management plan, initial and ongoing training practices and a proven record for genuinely providing a positive attitude and service with a smile. A warm welcome combined with the approximate time required for the cars’ return will contribute greatly to a good first and last impression.
