Vice Chairman Patrick Retires at Merrill Lynch

Share

Thomas Patrick, executive vice chairman for finance and administration at Merrill Lynch & Co., is retiring. The brokerage announced the move in an internal staff memo from Chairman and Chief Executive Stanley O’Neal.

No reason for the 60-year-old Patrick’s sudden departure was given. A spokesman declined to comment further and Patrick was not immediately available for comment.

Patrick was among the main architects of Merrill Lynch’s restructuring, which resulted in the loss of nearly 25,000 jobs in three years, including 1,300 last quarter. He was also a member of its operating committee.
