Activists Protest Docking of Cruise Ship
From Times Wire Reports
Environmentalists protested the docking of a cruise ship Monday, alleging it will generate huge amounts of sewage, wastewater garbage and air pollution in San Francisco Bay.
Activists contend the Crystal Harmony, docked at Pier 35, was not allowed to dock in Monterey because it allegedly dumped waste in a marine sanctuary.
The luxury ship is one of 77 expected to dock in San Francisco this year, compared to the 44 cruises that docked last year, Bluewater Clean Vessel campaign director Teri Shore said.
