4 Adelphia Directors Plan to Step Down

Adelphia Communications Corp. said the last four directors appointed by founder John Rigas, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of looting the company, will step down.

Leslie Gelber, Pete Metros, Dennis Coyle and Erland Kailbourne will leave as replacements are found, the company said. Adelphia said the moves will complete the transition to an independent board.
