Name change for theater group

Theatre LA is out, LA Stage Alliance is in.

The service organization that represents most of the professional theaters and individual stage producers in Los Angeles County will change its name as of July 1. The name of the organization’s half-price ticket service, now Web Tix, also will change, to LA Stagetix.

Lee Wochner, Theatre LA president and chief executive, said the new names will help the public connect the group with its magazine, LA Stage, and also will indicate that the organization is beginning to include a few members who produce other performing arts besides theater.
