Former state Democratic Party chairman and restaurateur Richard O’Neill has been named to the Orange County Fair Board.
Gov. Gray Davis announced O’Neill’s appointment Friday to the board of the 32nd District Agricultural Assn. The unpaid position does not require Senate confirmation.
O’Neill, 80, owns the El Adobe restaurant in San Juan Capistrano. He is patriarch of the Rancho Mission Viejo family, which plans to develop about a third of the ranch’s remaining 23,000 acres.
