Own Goal Costs Power in 2-1 Loss to Breakers

Angela Hucles scored her first goal of the season midway through the second half and New York gave up an own goal for the second straight game as the Boston Breakers beat the Power, 2-1, Wednesday night before 4,723 at Boston.

Boston (6-4-2) won for the third time in four games and moved into first place in the WUSA with 20 points.

New York (5-7-1) dropped its second straight game.

San Jose 2, Carolina 0 -- Keri Sanchez scored her first goal of the season and had an assist before 4,425 at San Jose.

The Courage lost forward Danielle Fotopoulos, the WUSA’s leading scorer, to a knee injury in the 39th minute.
