Patent Lawsuit Against Motorola Dismissed

Share

Motorola Inc. said a prosecutor in Taipei dismissed allegations that the company infringed patents owned by DBTEL Inc., a Taiwan-based cellular telephone rival.

DBTEL, a former Motorola subcontractor that now makes competing cell phones for companies such as Britain’s BT Group, claimed that Motorola Electronics Taiwan was incorporating DBTEL’s copyrighted and patented designs in Motorola phones. The prosecutor’s office of the Taipei District Court dismissed the claims June 6.

Motorola shares rose 8 cents to $9.53 on the NYSE.
